Problem Statement1

AI powered traffic management system

Detailed View

Close

Problem: Existing traffic light infrastructure often lacks real-time adaptability, leading to inefficient traffic flow and congestion.

Challenge (Software & Hardware):

Software: Develop an AI-powered traffic management system that analyses real-time traffic data (vehicle density, accident reports, etc.) from a network of low-power wireless sensors installed at key intersections (hardware). The software should dynamically adjust traffic light timings based on the collected data to optimise traffic flow.
Hardware: Design and prototype a low-power, wireless sensor node (hardware) that can be easily installed on existing traffic light infrastructure. The sensor should collect data on vehicle density and communicate it securely to a central hub for real-time analysis.

Problem Statement2

Smart parking management system

Detailed View

Close

Problem:Finding parking in busy areas is a time-consuming hassle, contributing to traffic congestion. Traditional parking metres offer limited functionality.

Challenge (Software & Hardware):

Software:Develop a mobile app that integrates with a network of smart parking sensors (hardware) installed in parking lots. The app should display real-time parking availability, guide drivers to available spots using GPS, and potentially implement dynamic pricing based on demand (software).
Hardware: Design and prototype a low-cost, low-power sensor (hardware) that can be installed in individual parking spaces. The sensor should detect vehicle presence and transmit this data wirelessly to a central system for real-time parking availability updates.

Problem Statement3

A real time traffic information platform

Detailed View

Close

Problem:Commuters lack a unified platform for real-time traffic information, leading to unpredictable travel times and inefficient route choices. Existing traffic cameras lack AI processing capabilities.

Challenge (Software & Hardware):

Software: Develop a real-time traffic information platform that integrates data from various sources, including:

Hardware:Design and prototype an upgrade kit for existing traffic cameras (hardware) that adds AI processing power and enables real-time traffic analysis. The platform should use this data to provide personalised route suggestions to commuters via a mobile app (software).
